Although sometimes entering into a plea agreement, meaning that you plead guilty to some charge in exchange for a lesser punishment and/or dismissal of other charges, may be in a client's best interest, many attorneys use their clients' fear of punishment to motivate a plea without fully analyzing the case and without being sure that the client fully understands his options before making what is surely one of the most important decisions in his life.
